This autumn, BUP in Umeå looks to be rid of its previous staff problems. Now both doctors and psychologists have been brought in, which has previously been painful.

- A couple of years ago, we had 80 percent new staff, but we've been working on that. We have extremely competent staff and they do a fantastic job, ”says Eva Larsson, acting chief operating officer at BUP in Umeå.

Since 2017, staff have hardly changed, some layoffs due to dissatisfaction that were previously a problem, have not occurred.

With a fully staffed staff, we hope to guarantee patients good and professional care. It will also mean a better workload for the staff at BUP.

- After the summer we have some queues, but we will be able to work away during the autumn. Entrance fees have increased by 25 percent in the county. A little less in Skellefteå and a little more in Lycksele, says Larsson.

Promising in Lycksele - gloom in Skellefteå

For the county's other BUP operations, it looks a little different. In Lycksele, the situation is considered promising. Here you are under-staffed on the medical side, but enough with curators and psychologists.

In Skellefteå, on the other hand, it looks gloomier. Recruitment has been very slow due to sick house problems. However, the business will move into a new building this autumn and the hope is that it will be the start of a new recruitment here as well.

- What we want now is that we get more staff to Skellefteå. There we have also had people go from Umeå to Skellefteå to meet patients, says Eva Larsson, and says that in Skellefteå, there is mainly no psychologists.
