Vice-Champion of Europe 800m Rénelle Lamote failed to clinch the minima for the Doha Worlds (27 September - 6 October) Sunday at the Birmingham Diamond League meeting, finishing 4th in 2: 01.46.

The "performance level required" by the French Athletics Federation (FFA) to be selected at the World Championships is 2: 00.2 while the IAAF minima are 2: 00.60. The best time this season Lamote, which does not appear in the provisional list of 42 selected by the FFA, is 2: 01.21 (August 10 in Bydgoszcz).

Locked in the peloton at the beginning of the race, Lamote (25 years old) was better repositioned at the attack of the last lap but she was a little short to come to play the victory, which returned to the American Ajee Wilson (2: 00.76). He still has a race, on August 24 at the meeting of Diamond League of Paris, to achieve the minima for Doha.
