Christophe Lemaitre again failed to win the minima on 200 m for the Doha Worlds (September 27 - October 6), Sunday, at a meeting in Schifflange in Luxembourg.

The Olympic bronze medalist in 2016 took the distance in 20 sec 66, still far from the "required performance level" by the French Athletics Federation (20 sec 35) and IAAF minima (20 sec 40).

Back in early July at the competition after a warning to the left hamstrings in the spring, Christophe Lemaitre has not yet found his best level, finishing notably a poor 6th place at the French Championships. The 29-year-old sprinter, currently selected for the 4x100m relay at the Worlds, will have a final chance to get the ticket for Doha on an individual basis, on August 24th at the Diamond League meeting in Paris.

Lemaitre, holder of the record of France (19 sec 80), did not run faster than 20 sec 46 in 2019.
