The first day of registration of candidates for the National Council elections in Sharjah witnessed widespread acceptance by citizens, especially from the female element to stand for election, as they agreed that the registration procedures were smooth and fast, and did not face any obstacles during the registration process.

The Emirates Today monitored many women who registered to run for the upcoming National Council elections. The Sharjah Committee registered the first application submitted by a woman to run in elections, in addition to the arrival of a candidate accompanied by her children, and another with her husband, to encourage and support them in their first step to participate in the wedding In addition to the nomination of women who were members of the former National Council, as well as a number of women members of the Advisory Council in Sharjah, in order to love them for a new parliamentary and electoral experience.

Issa Saif Bin Handal, Chairman of the Sharjah National Election Commission, said that the early hours witnessed a huge turnout and distinguished participation from women, pointing out that the committee was keen to provide all facilities and procedures for the registration of candidates.

He continued: The process of registration to participate in the elections was smooth and accurate, as the candidates did not face any obstacles, and the Commission did not receive any observation from the candidates about the registration process or stages, pointing out that the organization process and the team contributed to the success of the registration process in the first day.

He added that the registration process takes a few minutes and does not take long, pointing to the presence of a clear turnout of women, after the granting of women 50 percent of the seats of the Federal National Council, which will enhance competition among women in this session.
