A woman in her 70s has been killed this Sunday in Jaén, allegedly by her husband, who has been arrested by the National Police, police sources have told Efe.
The events have occurred around 12:00 hours in a house on Francisco Ayala García street in the capital of Jienense, where a daughter of the marriage found her mother and alerted the 112 emergency service.
According to sources, the first investigations indicate that the woman has received numerous blows with an iron bar and that there were no complaints of abuse against her partner.
The couple was in the process of separation and apparently there has been an argument because of a telephone, according to sources.
The National Police has activated the protocol for violent death , although, until the investigation progresses, the case has not yet been classified as sexist violence.
