The Ministry of Health and Community Protection issued a circular by withdrawing one batch of a drug, which is used as a laxative medicine to treat cases of constipation for adults, after it was found that there was a mistake on the external label, which contains the words "for children" instead of "for adults", which causes the use of adult dose for children. To give a double dose to the child may cause side effects.

In the circular, the ministry asked the supplier to withdraw the batch «0093» from the drug «Laxocodyl suppositories10mg», which is produced by Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries «Julphar» in the form of suppositories, from the public and private sectors, and asked all health care practitioners not to use it if they have, and All pharmacies stop dispensing and returning it to the supplier.

The Ministry appealed to members of the community not to use the said batch of the product, and dispose of it with the need to see a doctor, or health care practitioner (pharmacist), to describe other alternatives, or the use of other batches of the product. She explained that the circular addressed to the directors of medical areas and public and private hospitals, doctors, pharmacists and pharmacists assistants, and to the directors of public and private pharmacies, according to the Federal Law No. (4) of 1983, on the profession of pharmacy and pharmaceutical institutions, and the Ministerial Decree No. (366) of 2010 Regarding the announcement of withdrawal, suspension, suspension or prohibition of the circulation of pharmaceutical and medical products.

The Ministry affirms that it monitors the local pharmaceutical factories and, in the event of any warning regarding the medication, immediately issues a circular to all health and concerned authorities on the need to withdraw these products and destroy them in order to preserve the health of the community.
