A photo of a 70-year-old elephant mobilized at a festival is shocking.

On Thursday, local officials, including the UK Metro, introduced the story of Tikiri, uncovered by the Thai Elephant Conservation Organization (SEF).

On Monday, which was World Elephant Day, SEF founder Lek Chillert criticized Tikiri for 10 days in an old, debilitating body. The festival is a Buddhist event called 'Esala Ferahera' in Sri Lanka, featuring numerous elephants marching through the streets wearing colorful robes and masks.
Because of this, not only Tikiri, but over 60 elephants mobilized at the event had to walk tirelessly with foot shackles from morning to night. You have to endure all the schedules, withstanding the shouts of people, the sound of firecrackers and the thick smoke.

Mr. Chilter unveiled a picture of Tikiri, whose bones were hidden from the gown, and said, "How can we say this is sacred and full of blessings if we make their lives so painful?"

"I can't be silent anymore. I have to step up to protect the elephants still suffering and waiting for help."
After the photo was released, the temple organizers said, "It is always taking good care of the animals." It is said that Tikiri is being treated by a veterinarian.
