“The Secretary General looks forward to working with the transitional governing bodies. He reiterates the commitment of the United Nations to assist the transition process in its quest to achieve the long-standing aspiration of the people of Sudan for democracy and peace, ”the statement said.
Earlier, the Sudan Transitional Military Council and the opposition coalition Forces of Freedom and Change signed an agreement on a transitional period in the country.
It was noted that, according to the signed document, in Sudan "a joint military and civil council will be created, which will chair just over three years."
