On Monday, the buses stop at the three stops in Sofia Church, the Catholic Church and the Red Pile. Already in June, the stop at Tullportsgatan disappeared.

-It is very close between some bus stops in town today, and we want to speed up the traffic to make it more attractive to choose the bus. In addition, these particular stops do not have as high travel. It is also a matter of comfort to avoid a lot of stops and starts, says David Lundberg, who is a traffic developer for JLT city traffic.

Several stops can be reviewed

Right now, a comprehensive review of the city traffic in Jönköping is taking place together with the municipality where, among other things, the line system is being improved to improve public transport, and Länstrafiken does not rule out that more stops will be affected.

-Yes, we probably will. We will build some new stops, but others may be moved or withdrawn.

But is there no reason to take the bus that you have close?

- Yes, it is. But we make this change because it benefits the vast majority, then there are some who suffer.

Reactions from the elderly

Since the decision to withdraw the stops became known, Länstrafiken has received a lot of reactions, mainly from the elderly. The pensioner organization PRO has also responded.

Is it worth these minutes you save, given the reactions?

-Yes, looking at the whole. But you have to see it as part of a larger whole of what we do now, says David Lundberg.
