This was reported by the press service of the prosecutor's office of the Odessa region on his Facebook page.
“At present, the prosecutor’s office is preparing a suspect for violation of the fire safety requirements at the hotel, which resulted in the death of nine people (part 2 of article 270 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and a petition for a preventive measure,” the statement said.
It is specified that the owner of the hotel was detained as part of a pre-trial investigation in accordance with Art. 208 Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine.
On the night of August 16-17, a fire broke out at the Tokyo Star Hotel. According to the latest data, nine people died as a result of the accident.
In connection with this tragedy, mourning was declared in the Odessa region.
