Fall fruit becomes biogas and bio fertilizer in Forsbacka

The process takes place at the biogas plant in Forsbacka.

"We expect to save at least 200 tonnes of fall fruit for biogas and bio fertilizer already this year," says Maria Eriksson, supervisor at Gästrike recyclers' recycling centers.

They want to use the recycling center to utilize waste that can later become a resource.

Carbon dioxide emissions are reduced by biogas and in the long term it is expected to replace gasoline and diesel.

According to Gästrike recycling, you can drive almost 1 mile with a passenger car on the fuel from 5 kilos of apples.
