Matar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), has announced the completion of 65% of Al Qudra Street and Lehbab intersection, from a separate intersection to a bridge intersection that provides free traffic in all directions to enhance the flow of traffic on Al Qudra and Lhabab Streets The latter is considered as a strategic hub within the structural plan of the road network implemented by the Authority, as an alternative route for drivers wishing to go to Expo Street, Jebel Ali Industrial Area and adjacent areas, as well as for those heading to the capital Abu Dhabi and vice versa, without having to enter the center of the city. E, pointing out that the percentage of completion in the bridges reached 70%, while the percentage of completion of a bicycle bridge amounted to approximately 90%, and is expected to finish all the business end of this year.

Al Tayer said: “The project includes the implementation of two bridges of the road along the two existing bridges, and the implementation of links that serve the traffic going right and north and turn back, and the expansion of roads linked to the intersection. The project also includes the construction of a bicycle bridge at the intersection, as well as lighting, rainwater drainage and the conversion and protection of existing services or reserved tracks.

He explained that «the expansion and development of Al Qudra Street is one of the strategic projects, which aims to provide a main axis starting from the Jumeirah area through Umm Suqeim Road, which was developed by constructing two bridges with a capacity of three lanes in each direction, the first bridge over the eastern parallel road (Asayel Street) And the second above the western parallel road (the first Al Khail Road), and continues to flow in the intersection of the bridge on the Al Khail Street and then the intersection of Arabian Ranches on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Street, and from there to Al Qudra Street where the movement continues to flow over the bridge Al Qudra on Emirates Road, reaching the area Sayah al-Salam », pointing out that« In the first phase, the road was expanded from one lane in each direction to three lanes in each direction for 12 km, starting from the intersection of Lahbab Street and Al Qudra Street to Bab Al Shams roundabout including the new bridge. Two bridges with a capacity of three lanes in each direction, the implementation of a vehicle and beauty crossing on Al Qudra Street, and the completion of a bicycle route on Al Qudra Street with a length of 18 km, which included a bicycle break with public facilities, shops for renting bicycles, tools and clothing related to this sport, and an integrated medical clinic Weiz, the Dubai Cycling Gate, a bicycle break, 10 umbrellas and bicycle parking. ”

It is worth mentioning that the Roads and Transport Authority has implemented 10 projects to develop the axis of the Lahbab and Expo Street, which starts from the roundabout in front of the Lahbab police station to its intersection with Sheikh Zayed Road for a length of 55 kilometers, where the street was expanded from two lanes in each direction to four lanes in each direction, Intersection of 24 bridges at the intersection of this axis with Sheikh Zayed Road (8th Interchange on Sheikh Zayed Road).
