Since the area used to be mostly green spaces, warehouses and industrial buildings, housing has been built at Tullholmsviken. Now the new district opens up Karlstad towards the water and the southwest location towards Vänern.

- Previously, most people passed Tullholmsviken, but now people pass and operate around the clock. It makes a few other demands in the area and we believe that this quay promenade gives this area some qualities and can make people feel a little extra good, says Frida Pettersson.

There are seating and plantings along the 300-meter walk. The materials are made of stone, larch wood and concrete, and to be extra clear, the chairman of the Urban Building Board told Erik Nilsson (KD) that about 10,000 meters of larch trolley and 47,000 trolley screws are used to complete the quay promenade at Tullviken.

SEK 32 million

Although this part of the area was inaugurated now, the project has a continuation.

- It's going to a small pier and some boat places here in the future when all permits are in place, so this place will only get better in the future, Erik Nilsson promises.

The quay promenade has cost SEK 32 million.

- We want to be extra careful to emphasize that this is the whole of Karlstad Municipality's quay walk. This is everyone's quay walk, says the municipal council Frida Pettersson (C)
