This greyness will gradually dissipate during the morning to give way to a more variable sky.

The weather will be contrasted Friday, with gray in the west early in the day, according to Météo-France forecasts released Thursday.

A generous sun on the southern two thirds of the country in the afternoon

The grisaille will be well established from the early hours of the Basque Country in the Pays de la Loire and Brittany and Normandy, to the Strait of Pas de Calais. This greyness will gradually dissipate during the morning to give way to a more variable sky. Further east, the sky will be brighter, with alternating cloudstorms and clearings, which will be much wider over the southern two-thirds of the country.

In the afternoon, the sun will remain generous in the southern two thirds of the country, despite cumulus on the relief of the Alps, the Pyrenees and Corsica. The weather will be rather sunny on the Massif Central, from the Center-Val de Loire to the Grand Est. Further north, cloud cover will be more present in the Ardennes in Nord-Pas de Calais, in Normandy and in Brittany.

The temperatures

The minimum temperatures will be between 10 and 15 degrees in general. They will go from 15 to 21 on the Mediterranean rim. Peaks will reach 20 to 24 degrees in the northwestern quarter, 24 to 29 in the rest of the country. But they will still go from 29 to 33 on the extreme south.
