“We are convinced that increased US pressure on Iran with the support of Great Britain, including through the formation of the so-called“ mission to ensure freedom of navigation, ”will only aggravate the situation in the Persian Gulf,” TASS quoted the diplomat’s communique as saying.
The embassy noted that "for many years, Russia has advocated overcoming the crisis in the region by political and diplomatic means."
Earlier, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that the security of the Persian Gulf can provide regional powers without the involvement of foreign forces.
