"US Special Representative for North Korea Stephen Bigan will visit Japan from August 19 to 20 and Seoul from August 20 to August 22," the statement said.
The State Department added that Bigan intends to meet with representatives of Seoul and Tokyo to further strengthen coordination regarding the denuclearization of the DPRK.
Earlier, Bigan said that Washington hopes for an early resumption of meaningful contacts with Pyongyang.
