The teenager was shot several times in the back and arm as he fled.

De'Von Bailey, a 19-year-old African-American, died on August 3 after being shot by Colorado Springs police in the United States, reports Le Parisien . The young man received three bullets in the back, and one in the back of his arm, while attempting to flee a police check in which two officers questioned him about an alleged robbery.

The Colorado police has just posted images of the drama, from GoPro cameras worn by law enforcement.

"Extremely difficult" images

In the video, De'Von Bailey is accompanied by another young man, identified by Colorado Public Radio (CPR) as his cousin, also 19 years old. The police officers summon the two young men to put their hands up, and ask them if they carry a weapon. One of them then approaches to search them, but the victim runs away.

The policeman carrying the camera then takes out his gun and orders him to stop, to no avail. As the young man continues his run, the policeman fires several times. De'Von Bailey is on the floor, handcuffed. The police searched the young man and took off his shorts as they suspected him of hiding a weapon. This has never been confirmed. First aid is immediately given to him, but his heart and his left lung are perforated. He will die a few minutes later.

These images were "extremely difficult" to watch for his loved ones, family lawyer Darold Killmer told CPR. "The video shows that there was no evidence that anyone was likely to be killed or wounded imminently." De'Von Bailey's funeral takes place this Friday in Colorado Springs.
