A 47-year-old man has died stabbed this morning during a fight in the Nou Barris district of Barcelona.
The Mossos d'Esquadra have reported that the fight, whose motives are unknown, has occurred around 03.00 hours and two men have participated in it, one of whom has died.
The mortal victim, of Dominican nationality, has been transferred in serious condition by the Medical Emergency System (SEM) to a hospital, but has finally died.
The Mossos of the Criminal Investigation Division (SIC) have opened an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the death.
This new event occurs in the middle of a "security crisis" in Barcelona that the City Council itself has admitted. In the City of Barcelona there have been a total of 13 deadly crimes so far this year, which exceeds the number of victims registered in the Catalan capital throughout 2018, which ended with 10.
Despite these alarming data, the Consistory says that "Barcelona is still a safe city compared to others such as Paris, London or Rome."
The first half of this year has been disastrous for security in Barcelona. The number of crimes has grown by 9% and especially alarming are the numbers of robberies and thefts. Only crimes against heritage have risen 10% in the Catalan capital, while robberies with violence or intimidation on public roads have made it 35% , thefts 8.3% and robberies with force in commercial establishments They have shot up to 66%.
