A 22-year-old man is being prosecuted at Halmstad District Court for attempted murder. He is alleged to have attacked another man on a street in central Halmstad on May 16, 2019 and added a knife to the victim's abdomen.
The injuries were life-threatening with rib fractures, blood accumulation in one lung sac, puncture of the midbrain and liver damage.
According to the indictment, it was pure chance that the victim survived and the attack is described as dangerous and carried out with special ruthlessness and cruelty.
The accused 22-year-old refuses a crime.
He is also prosecuted for minor drug offenses when he must have used cannabis the days before the attack and for threats against an official when he must have threatened a forensic doctor with force if he performed a body examination on him.
