On August 15, telephone conversations took place between the Rosselkhoznadzor and the director of the plant protection department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of Serbia, Nebojsa Milosavljevic.

“The Russian department expressed its concern about the detection of brown moniliosis rot in 12 batches of peaches, nectarines and plums, delivered in July from Serbia to Russia,” the service’s website said in a statement.

The Rosselkhoznadzor also said that “it reserves the right to introduce temporary restrictions on the import of stone fruits from Serbia in case of continued receipt of infected fruits in Russia”.

In turn, Miloslavlevich promised that his department would investigate all cases of deliveries of infected products.

Earlier, the Rosselkhoznadzor limited the import of pork from Slovakia and Bulgaria.
