The authors of the study noted the difference in estimates in different socio-demographic groups of the population.
So, men consider a decent salary of 68.6 thousand rubles, women - 64.2 thousand rubles.
Russians 18-30 years old estimate a fair salary at 56.2 thousand rubles, at the age of 40-50 years old - at 67.2 thousand rubles.
Sberbank Life Insurance conducted a study in the summer of 2019 in 37 cities with a population of more than 500 thousand people, as well as in Grozny and Sevastopol by telephone survey.
It was previously reported that in 71 regions of Russia the proportion of residents who can be attributed to the middle class does not exceed 20% of the total population. When conducting the study, the middle class was understood to mean families who can afford to buy a car and an apartment corresponding to the size of the family, and after monthly payments on loans for a car and housing they have at least two regional minimum living wages per person for everyday expenses.
Families in which at least one person has a job were considered.
In early August, the RIA Rating Agency commissioned by RIA Novosti conducted a study that determined the share of Russians with salaries above 75 thousand rubles per month. The corresponding salary is received by about 12% of Russians working in 27 sectors of the economy analyzed by the agency. According to the study, approximately one third of those employed in the field of mining (37%), finance (33%) and fisheries (34%) have such income.
Experts also point out that, under certain circumstances, people working in the IT, communications and mass communications industry and in the Professional, scientific and technical activities industry can expect rather high salaries. Here, more than a quarter of employees receive a salary of 75 thousand rubles or more per month.
