The 24-year-old man suspected of shooting nine people in Dayton, Ohio, was under the influence of drugs at that time. Local authorities say that Connor Betts had cocaine and alcohol in his body, CNN reports.
The twenties shot his own sister, among other things. He ordered the gun online and had it delivered to a local arms dealer. The warehouse in the weapon had a capacity of one hundred bullets.
A larger massacre was prevented by rapid police intervention. Rushed-in officers managed to take out the suspect within half a minute.
Earlier it was announced that Betts had studied violent ideologies. The FBI reported last week that evidence for this was found. It is still being investigated whether the man had a henchman.
