In the United States called the idea of Zelensky in the Norman format interesting

The United States considers interesting the proposal of the Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky to expand the Norman format at the expense of Washington or London. This was in an interview with the publication "European Truth" said US Chargé d'Affaires in Ukraine William Taylor.

Thus, he answered the question about the possibility of "modification of the Norman format" due to the accession of the United States.

“President Zelensky has already raised this issue, so yes, this opportunity is being considered,” the diplomat said.

As Taylor recalled, Zelensky explained this idea by the lack of success in the Norman format, which "did not lead to any results."

“We believe that this is an interesting proposal ... it is necessary for other participants in the Norman format to express what they think about the accession of the United States or Great Britain, but I can say that we are interested in this,” he added.

Earlier, US Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Walker did not rule out the possibility of the participation of American leader Donald Trump in the negotiations on the Donbass.

In early July, Zelensky invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to hold talks in Minsk with the participation of world leaders, including Trump.

Commenting on the proposal, Putin emphasized that Russia has never refused any of the proposed formats.

At the same time, the representative of the State Department noted that the United States does not support ideas providing for a change in the format of international negotiations on the situation in Ukraine.
