A week ago, the Uppsala Police posted a post on their Facebook page asking for the owner of a turtle that they had received in the lost goods department. Fortunately, the turtle came home to its owner shortly after the police posted the post.

However, this is unusual, says Amanda Sundell, who works at the police's reception.

- The most common items we receive are keys, wallets and mobile phones. But once we got loose teeth.

What did you do to them?

- We received the loose teeth because it is lost material, says Amanda Sundell, laughing.

Gets most items during the summer

Because there are more people moving out in the summer, you usually lose more things and in this way you also find more things. And if you find something, you should hand it in to the police, Amanda Sundell points out.

- There is a rule in the law that says that you have to hand in found items within 14 days otherwise you are guilty of a crime called bargain misconduct.

Everything is not lost property

However, you should be aware that everything you find does not have to be lost.

- At the beginning of the year we got a lot of electric scooters that people had found around town, because people thought that this must be something that someone had lost. But it turned out then that was not the case, but you rent them through apps.
