In the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the lists of ministers have still not been handed over to President Felix Tshisekedi who has the final arbitration and prerogative to appoint the government. The proposals submitted since August 11 by the Common Front for Congo (FCC) Joseph Kabila and Cape for Change (CACH) Felix Tshisekedi to Prime Minister Sylevstre Ilunga do not respect his recommendations and count too few women and youth.

In the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the judgment of Prime Minister Sylvestre IIunga Ilunkamba is final. For him, the two platforms in power, the Common Front for Congo (FCC) Joseph Kabila and Cape for Change (CACH) Felix Tshisekedi, did not follow the instructions.

FCC's list of ministrables includes, for example, "a few names that are problematic and that would upset public opinion, " says a source from the same camp, namely the names of people facing sanctions from the European Union and the United States. United. But the Prime Minister does not want his team, which would have attracted the anger of his colleagues from the FCC, according to the same source. The pro-Kabila believe that the Western sanctions have nothing to do with a " strong judicial sentence ".

Race against time

Another explanation of the delay in the presentation of the governmental list: the two platforms did not make emerge women and young people in their proposals. On the issue of women, CACH would have asked " more leniency, " reveals a source at the prime minister. The presidential coalition has even admitted that it does not have a " substantial number " of women to propose for its 23 ministerial posts.

The coordinators of the FCC and CACH had to review their copy with a final deadline on Thursday, August 15 because the Prime Minister is now engaged in a race against time. Sylvestre Ilunga is expected to submit the first draft of government team to President Felix Tshisekedi before he flies in the coming hours in Tanzania for a summit of SADC, the Southern African Development Community.
