The Ukrainian community responded to the statement of London on the Crimea
The head of the Ukrainian community of Crimea, Anastasia Gridchina, commented on the statement of the British Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Karen Pierce, allegedly infringing on the rights of Ukrainians on the peninsula. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
“It's all like in the wonderful English fairy tale“ Alice through the Looking Glass ”, when the next marmot takes a fairy tale,” said Gridchina.
She advised Pierce and her colleagues to come to Crimea together "to look for Crimeans who have only Ukrainian citizenship."
The head of the Ukrainian community added that in the Crimea there is an absolutely opposite situation. According to her, “every day more and more” people who wish to obtain Russian citizenship in a simplified manner. The Ukrainian community assists them in obtaining passports.
Earlier, the Permanent Representative of Britain announced the "desperate situation" of Ukrainians in the Crimea. According to her, they allegedly do not get access to basic social services.
Crimea became the Russian region after a referendum held in March 2014, in which most residents spoke out for reunification with Russia.
