American rapper A $ AP Rocky was sentenced Wednesday in Sweden to prison suspended for violence after a fight in late June in Stockholm.

The famous rapper, as well as two members of his entourage, "are convicted of violence and condemned to a suspended sentence", wrote the court of Stockholm in its judgment. They "assaulted the victim by beating and kicking her while lying on the floor," the court added. Together, they will have to pay 12,500 crowns (1,200 euros) in damages for their victim.
The 30-year-old artist was arrested after a street fight on June 30 and detained on the grounds that there was "a risk of flight" abroad. The case has tended relations between the United States and Sweden. US President Donald Trump accused late July Stockholm of despising the fate of black Americans and sent to the trial his special envoy on hostage affairs, Robert O'Brien.
A $ AP Rocky absent at trial
Released August 2 after three days of trial and returned to the United States, A $ AP Rock was not present Wednesday at the announcement of the judgment. "Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all my fans, my friends and all those who have supported me these last weeks (...), it was a very difficult and humiliating experience" he had written to his release on his Instagram account.
The rapper had immediately left Sweden on a private jet to the west coast of the United States. He gave Sunday his first concert since returning to the Real Street Festival in Anaheim, California. The opportunity for him to talk about his detention: "you can not even know how happy I am to be here, it was a frightening experience," he told the audience, quoted by the radio American KRRL.
