If there are no last-minute surprises, the 'popular' Isabel Díaz Ayuso will become the new president of the Community of Madrid on Wednesday with the support of Citizens and Vox. Yesterday, in his speech before the Assembly, Ayuso presented his Government in the capital as a counterweight to Pedro Sánchez, despite not mentioning his name once. He also announced "the biggest tax reduction in history" and curdled his speech with nods to Vox.

The keys of the second session

Today, the Plenary resumes with the intervention of a representative of each parliamentary group for 30 minutes. Ayuso can answer you individually or jointly and without time limitation. Then, the representatives of each group will be entitled to a reply of 15 minutes each and, when they finish, the candidate can intervene again without time limitation until the debate is closed. It will be then when the president of the Assembly suspends the session and announces the time of the investiture vote. If Ayuso obtains the favorable vote of the majority of absolute of the Madrid Chamber (68 deputies), he will obtain the confidence of the Assembly.

If this does not happen, your proposal will be submitted to a new vote at 48 hours, that is, on August 16 and you will get the confidence of the Assembly if you get a simple majority of the deputies present (more yes than no).

The investiture session on Wednesday is attended, among other personalities: Teodoro García Egea, Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo, Antonio González Terol, José Manuel Franco, Marcos de Quinto, Adolfo Suárez Illana, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, Begoña Villacís, Marta Higueras and Javier Ortega Smith.
