Acting head of the Federal Forestry Agency Mikhail Klinov announced the stabilization of the situation with forest fires in Siberia.

“In recent days there has been a tendency towards a decrease in forest fires. The situation is stabilizing, but remains quite complicated. The intensity of extinguishing forest fires in the Siberian and Far Eastern Federal Districts will continue, ”he said.
The ministry said that the area of fires that are actively extinguished has decreased by 10 thousand hectares, while 53 fires were eliminated, and 20 fires in an area of 100.5 thousand hectares were eliminated in remote and inaccessible territories.
Earlier, a spokesman for the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that everyone has been working very hard and with the greatest possible efficiency in fighting fires in Siberia.
On August 8, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev instructed the government to allocate about 6 billion rubles to extinguish forest fires in a number of regions.
On August 1, the Ministry for Emergencies called the cause of the spread of fires in Siberia.
