August 14, 20193.05 Four Nigerian soldiers were killed when a mine exploded when the car passed by, on the way to Bosso, a city in southeastern Niger, a frequent target of incursions by the Nigerian jihadist group Boko Haram. The four soldiers killed belonged to the Multinational Joint Force (Niger, Nigeria, Chad and Cameroon) which has been operating since 2015 in the Lake Chad Basin against Boko Haram. The Diffa region has been the scene of Boko Haram attacks since 2015.
