The independent candidate for mayor of Paris Gaspard Gantzer said Wednesday he wanted to gather broad, Cédric Villani to Isabelle Saporta, to embody "a third way" against the "duel Hidalgo-Griveaux" during the municipal March 2020.

"I talk with Isabelle Saporta for several weeks," said France Info founder of the movement "Parisiennes, Parisiens". The journalist resigned from her RTL morning columnist position in May following a public revelation of her affair with environmental leader Yannick Jadot and announced her intention to "get involved" in politics.

"I suggested that we get together, (...) now, it's up to her to decide," Gantzer added, praising an "exceptional" woman and "a convinced environmental activist".

The former communication advisor to François Hollande, who says he talks with "all those who share their values, totally or partially," also spoke with Cédric Villani. The deputy LREM was defeated in early July by Benjamin Griveaux in the race for the inauguration of the Republic on the march for Paris and thinks of an alternative candidacy, multiplying the contacts in recent weeks, with the ecologists of EELV, MoDem, Les Republicans, etc.

Gaspard Gantzer also discussed exchanges with two other members LREM a time interested in the mayor of Paris, Mounir Mahjoubi and Hugues Renson.

"After, it's up to them to see if, at some point, they want to free themselves," said the one who repeated being a "free" and "independent" man, an "outsider".

"I hope I can convince all these people, we can go together until the end, because frankly the alternative Hidalgo-Griveaux, Griveaux-Hidalgo, it's not dream," insisted Mr. Gantzer.
