14 August 2019A 41-year-old Italian mountaineer died in Isère in the Écrins massif, in the French Alps, after having slipped and fallen for a hundred meters. The 40-year-old - local sources report - has plummeted around 13.30 from the descent of a peak culminating to 3,300 meters above sea level, which had just climbed from the northern slope with two other Italian mountaineers of 28 and 46 years.

"She slipped on an easy portion and fell for a hundred meters," rescuers said. His climbing companions, unharmed but in shock, were rescued by helicopter. An investigation, entrusted to the police of the Alps, was opened on the circumstances of the accident.
