Six people, including a soldier, were killed in an attack perpetrated on Tuesday night by a female suicide bomber in western Chad, an army officer told AFP on Wednesday.

"At one o'clock in the morning, a female suicide bomber, a member of Boko Haram (the Nigerian jihadist group), entered the courtyard of the Tatafiromou canton chief where she fired her charge, killing six people, including a soldier," he said. AFP a high-ranking Chadian army on condition of anonymity. The attack took place in the sub-prefecture of Kaïga-Kindjiria (Lac province) and was confirmed by a local NGO.
