Yemeni President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi's government said Wednesday it would not hold any political dialogue with southern separatists until they withdraw from positions they seized in the interim capital Aden.

The Yemeni Foreign Ministry said in a statement the government renewed its welcome to Saudi Arabia's call for a meeting to stand up to the consequences of the coup in Aden.

The statement added that "must first adhere to the statement of the coalition of the need to withdraw the Transitional Council from the positions seized during the past days before any dialogue."

For its part, the Southern Transitional Council confirmed its readiness for the dialogue called for by Riyadh, but so far has not shown any willingness to withdraw from the positions it controlled in Aden, including the presidential palace.

Riyadh has already invited the conflicting parties in Aden to an "urgent dialogue" in Saudi Arabia.

Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed said in a statement after meeting in Saudi Arabia with King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman that "dialogue is the only way to resolve any differences between the Yemenis."

Bin Zayed added that Riyadh's invitation to the parties to the conflict in Yemen "reflects the common concern for the stability of Yemen, and represents an important framework to defuse sedition and achieve solidarity among the people of the one nation."

According to security sources close to the Transitional Council, it currently controls in Aden five camps belonging to the Yemeni government and the presidential palace, in addition to the Prime Minister's building.

Looting
Meanwhile, local Yemeni sources in Aden confirmed increasing raids and arrests of activists opposed to the coup of the pro-Emirati Southern Transitional Council.

The sources pointed out that armed elements of the Transitional Council and the security belt reinforced with armored vehicles and military vehicles carried out a raid and arrests on Wednesday in Sheikh Othman and Dar Saad districts in Aden.

The campaign targeted a number of houses, arrested a number of activists, imposed security checkpoints and checkpoints in the main streets and fired shots to intimidate citizens.

The Saudi-UAE military alliance controls Yemen's airspace and issues operating permits to Yemeni airlines and UN and international civil aircraft.

On Saturday, troops from the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (NTC) seized brigades and internationally recognized government camps in Aden, after battles between the two sides ended in control of the presidential palace.
