Curators and school staff will be on site at 6 pm in the Åkerbo Hall in Löttorp for an information meeting aimed at pupils and parents. Despite the fire, the start of school will be held as planned next week.

- It feels important that we get started with the teaching, although for the first time we can focus on working on what has happened and the students are grieving the school, says Education Manager Helena Svensson on the municipality's website.

It was shortly after 19 on Tuesday evening that the alarm came on fire at Åkerboskolan in Löttorp. When the emergency services arrived at the scene, it appeared that the ceiling had collapsed and it was burning heavily in the high school part of the school. In spite of a high risk of spreading, the firefighters managed to limit the fire to the middle and high school part of the school. It has not yet been determined what caused the fire, but one of the theories is that a lightning strike may have been behind.
