5.6 percent of the county's population was registered as unemployed in July 2019, which is exactly the same figures as in July 2018.

It is about a little over 10 thousand people who are unemployed in Uppsala County.

Heby and Älvkarleby stand out

Heby is the only municipality in the county where unemployment has risen, they are in line with the average of 5.6 percent with an increase of 0.9.

The county's highest unemployment rate is Älvkarleby, with 8.7 percent of the population.

More young people are unemployed

Among young people between the ages of 18-24, unemployment is generally slightly higher than the overall population of the county. There, the unemployment rate is 7.7 percent and about 1,600 people in this age group are unemployed today.

In July, 514 county residents got a job, which is slightly lower than last year's 645.

When it comes to alerting, however, it is a marked difference from last year. In July this year, 32 people were notified compared to 2018 when 131 people were allowed to leave their jobs.
