Simon Gautier fell last Friday in a cliff near Policastro, Campania. He left a message to rescuers who failed to locate him.

It's been five days since his family worried, and the Italian press has just seized the case, as LCI has noticed. Simon Gautier, a 27-year-old Frenchman, disappeared last Friday near Policastro, a town in the province of Salerno, Italy.

Very slow help

The young man fell down a cliff and managed to prevent the rescue. "I fell into a cliff, my legs are broken, help me, I see the sea but I do not know where I am," he said early in the morning, according to Italian media. His call was received by the carabinieri from Lagonegro commune, 25 km away. But since then, nobody has managed to locate it.

The slowness of relief is pointed out by the Italian press. According to La Repubblica , it was not until nightfall Friday that the research began. Thirty men were deployed the next morning, then coastguards, and a helicopter arrived on site at midday, 28 hours after the report. However, the phone with which Simon Gautier made his emergency call could be located well before. The controversy is just beginning.
