The department said that a military pensioner, the head of one of the public organizations, was recruited and "collected intelligence information about political and public figures, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces."
"The person passed the collected data to the Russian intelligence officer, who" worked "under the diplomatic cover of the Russian Consulate General in Lviv," the statement said.
As emphasized, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry “declared the spy diplomat persona non grata."
“He has already left the territory of Ukraine,” concluded the SBU.
A criminal case has been instituted against a resident of the Lviv region under the article “high treason”.
