Ukraine declared the Russian "spy diplomat" persona non grata


In Ukraine, they declared persona non grata a Russian diplomat, he had already left the country. This is stated in a statement published by the SBU press service.

As noted, the security services exposed a resident of the Lviv region, who "carried out intelligence tasks of the Russian security services."

The department said that a military pensioner, the head of one of the public organizations, was recruited and "collected intelligence information about political and public figures, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces."

"The person passed the collected data to the Russian intelligence officer, who" worked "under the diplomatic cover of the Russian Consulate General in Lviv," the statement said.

As emphasized, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry “declared the spy diplomat persona non grata."

“He has already left the territory of Ukraine,” concluded the SBU.

A criminal case has been instituted against a resident of the Lviv region under the article “high treason”.

In the fall of 2018, the SBU announced the detention of a Russian, supposedly close to the Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov.
