The Civil Guard of Navarra has investigated two people for an alleged crime of animal abuse for throwing a dog into the river from an eight-meter bridge in the town of Funes .

The investigation, carried out by agents of the Company of the Civil Guard of Tafalla , began after knowing that some young people had thrown a dog into the Arga River from a bridge in that town.

Initiated the efforts to verify the facts, as well as to obtain the filiation of the alleged authors, it was verified that the events had happened during the early hours of July 25, the Civil Guard said in a statement.

After the inquiries, the people related to the event were located, one of them being the owner of the animal, who allegedly consented that another of those involved would throw the puppy about three months from the said bridge.

For all the foregoing, two persons (one of them the owner) have been charged as investigated for an alleged crime of animal abuse. They have also been denounced administratively.

The puppy is recovering and has been adopted by a Pamplona family.
