It was the night of October 15 that the 29-year-old man was shot to death on Galléengatan in Eskilstuna and also received several stab wounds.

When the main hearing began in Eskilstuna District Court on Monday, the murdered parents, sister and girlfriend were on the scene.

The men deny

But during the first trial, the focus was not on them, but on the suspects. The prosecutor claims that a 26-year-old and a 27-year-old from Avesta, are the ones who murdered the 29-year-old man.

"My client denies what is being charged to him in addition to a drug crime that he admits," says 27-year-old defender Per Svedlund.

The 26-year-old also denies the murder suspicions. Chat messages in the victim's phone indicate that the men would meet the 29-year-old to buy tramadol tablets.

The 29-year-old had contact with one of his suspected killers until just a minute before he was killed.

In addition to the two murder suspects, two other men are in various ways charged with participation in the murder.

"Thorough preliminary investigation"

One of them is a 36-year-old from Fagersta, who shot the suspected murderers to Eskilstuna and also drove them back to Avesta the same night.

- The prosecution is based on a very thorough preliminary investigation. We are confident in our claims about what happened before, during and after the murder, says prosecutor Emanuel Winberg.

The 36-year-old is suspected of assisting with murder, but he says he did not intend to promote the crimes of the suspects of murder and that he was in distress.

Shotgun found behind elements

Police found the suspected murder weapon, an older shotgun, behind an element in a garage in Krylbo. A 51-year-old man who disposes of the garage is charged with serious weapons offenses.

But the 51-year-old, who followed today's negotiation via video link, refuses because he thinks the shotgun is not his.

The relatives of the dead man claim damages totaling just over SEK 290,000 from the four suspected men.
