“This issue is subject to discussion with the participation of both trade unions and employers - all sides of social partnership,” the report said.

As noted in the ministry, the current Labor Code sets the maximum duration of a working week (no more than 40 hours), and there is no lower limit.

“Within the framework of social partnership / collective agreement / in organizations, both the number of hours per working day and the number of working days themselves can be reduced today,” the Ministry of Labor added.

Earlier, the federation of trade unions came up with a proposal to transfer Russian citizens to a four-day working week.

A VTsIOM survey showed that 48% of Russians would not support the transition to a four-day work week, 29% approved the idea.
