Media: The US doubted the extension of START III due to Russian hypersonic missiles

It is reported by Reuters, citing sources in the US administration.

Earlier, UN Secretary General António Guterres called on Russia and the United States to extend START III.

In early July, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow did not yet see Washington’s readiness to discuss the extension of START III or the development of a new agreement.

The agreement expires in February 2021.
