The Ministry of Infrastructure Development is implementing a comprehensive maintenance plan and additions for 10 public schools in Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman, at a total cost of 24 million dirhams, while the Ministry of Education confirmed that it has included 22 public schools, within the maintenance work to be implemented by the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Dubai Municipality.

The Ministry of Infrastructure Development, in a report, that the maintenance plan comes in line with the strategic plan of the State in the preservation of federal buildings, which is a real estate of the state, noting the need to preserve and manage them to maintain their sustainability, with development.

She stressed that the maintenance work is in accordance with the unified identity of the development of schools, which is affiliated to the Ministry of Education, adding that «maintenance is fundamental and development, aimed at creating an attractive environment for students and faculty alike».

She explained that the maintenance works for schools and their walls include the maintenance of four schools in the Emirate of Dubai, including: Omar bin Al-Khattab School and Al-Razi School, and the maintenance of the fence of the school of creativity and kindergarten Sunrise, and four schools in the Emirate of Ajman, including maintenance and additions to the school In addition to the maintenance of the fence and water course of Ammar bin Yasser School, in addition to the maintenance of Al-Shahba and Al-Thamid schools in the Emirate of Sharjah.

Maintenance works include repairing cracks, paints, closing the corridors using aluminum with thermo-glass, replacing lighting units with energy-saving units, wall cladding for bathrooms and floors with school floors, using granite ceramics, creating bathrooms for people with disabilities, expanding canteens and developing dining halls. And the work of internal and external paints with the work of expansions of the faculty rooms, and binding the front facades of some schools with the maintenance of external walls.

For its part, the Ministry of Education said it has included 22 public schools in the maintenance work, stressing that the Zayed Education Complex in Sharjah, and kindergarten Oud Al Muteena in Dubai, will enter service next academic year.

She added that the maintenance work varies from reviewing the condition of the buildings and the surrounding walls, the level of utilities, and air cooling systems, in order to increase their efficiency, pointing out that the maintenance is in accordance with the sustainability standards and the requirements of the green buildings, which the Ministry follows in all its projects.

She explained that the complex aims to achieve sustainability in its building, and commensurate with the highest international standards, which are commensurate with the future vision of the State.

The ministry pointed out that the Zayed Education Complex can accommodate 2500 students, and includes students of the second and third cycles of both sexes, with a complete separation between them. The building includes offices for teaching and administrative staff, 68 classrooms, 57 laboratories, two arts rooms, two media production centers, two music rooms, two learning resource centers, and a nursery.

Oud Al Muteena Kindergarten includes 12 classrooms, a children's theater, a dining area, a teacher room, five storage rooms, and other facilities, as well as a covered indoor play area and a canteen.
