In just four square, two adults and two children will live and live during the summer.
- After a family crisis where my sister suddenly passed away, we wanted to do something completely different. We felt it wasn't worth living like this and getting stuck in the squirrel wheel, ”says Amalia Braunsthal.
"I look forward to simplicity"Amalia, Robin and their two young children - Sixten 5 years and Hedda 2 years, are on our way to move into the used and rebuilt Volkswagen bus from the 80s. The road there has consisted of renovating and fixing the "rolling" housing.
They have rented out their apartment and now the plan is to travel around Sweden and Norway for at least two months.
- I hope we will feel the freedom. But I also know that it will be difficult with the kids, crowded, hot and cold - but that's what the charm is, says Robin Lundström.
- I look forward to the simplicity. To own only what you need. I think it gets messy with all the gadgets we have around us today, ”says Amalia.
In the clip, the family tells us more about what challenges await:
Living in a van of almost four square meters, without a washing machine and without a toilet, will not be a dance on roses - especially not with two small children. And there are those who have reacted to their decisions and frowned.
- The vast majority of reactions have been positive and people think it's fun and cool what we do. But then there are others who are a little more skeptical and think we go a little too much outside the box, says Amalia.
Where is the video game?Five-year-old Sixten climbs around the bus. He thinks it will be nice to live in his new "rolling" home. But he would like to have one thing.
- I want video games and a TV on the bus, he says, and dad Robin nods in agreement.
- No, there we have some shared sentences, so we'll see, says Amalia Braunsthal.
