The Abu Dhabi Scholarship Program for Young Researchers, who have completed a PhD or equivalent in the last six years, is a program to fund competitive research proposals in the strategic priority areas of Abu Dhabi in a competitive manner. The program aims to achieve tangible progress in the scientific and technological fields in the emirate, in addition to establishing local and international partnerships linking researchers in Abu Dhabi with their counterparts in the industrial sectors and leading academic institutions.It requires researchers to clarify the expected results of the research to be conducted, and the expected impact of the outputs of the research proposal. The Department explained, on the program definition page on its website, that the maximum duration of the research grant is three years and the maximum value of the grant is one million dirhams for all research sectors, except the education and social sciences sector, the value of the grant is a maximum of 300 thousand dirhams. Introduction depends on the feasibility of the budget of the proposed research project, the availability of funding sources, the number of research proposals submitted, the nature of the project and the contribution of the industry and higher education institutions hosting the cost of the project.

The Department confirmed that all research proposals are subject to administrative review, in addition to specialized review by researchers, where the reviews are based on seven criteria, including the extent of the project's relevance and feasibility, the expected impact of the outputs of the proposal and how to achieve this effect, and the relevance of the research proposal to the strategic priorities of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The remaining four qualifications and the course of research of the Principal Investigator, each assistant researcher or partner in the proposal, and the extent of adoption of the proposal by the Higher Education Institute and provide the necessary support and infrastructure, in addition to the contribution of the research proposal in the development and training Human cadres.

She pointed out that the researcher should clarify the nature and role of the student or employee participation, which will be paid from the grant budget, and the period of participation must be clarified for each participant individually, and the applicant can request the necessary equipment and equipment to complete the project, which does not exceed the cost The source, nature and contribution of the host institution or the participating industry sector should be included in the cost of the research proposal submitted. This percentage shall not be included in the required budget.

3 conditions for grant application

The Department of Education and Knowledge has defined three conditions, which must be met by the applicant for the research grant, to be full-time faculty members in higher education institutions within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, who have completed a doctorate or equivalent during the last six years, preferably The researcher may choose one of the faculty members who have experience in scientific research work as an assistant researcher.A applicant may not submit more than one research proposal, but he can participate as an assistant researcher or partner in other competing research projects, and priority in the selection of research proposals for citizens.
