In the accident, which occurred early in the morning of April 2, 2017, three young people were killed and over 20 suffered such serious injuries that they needed hospital care. The accident occurred on the E45 two miles south of Sveg where the bus drove off the road and overturned. On board the bus were high school students from Skene in Västergötland who were on their way to Klövsjö to ski.

The Prosecutor appealed

The bus driver was charged with neglecting to the death of another, causing bodily harm and carelessness in traffic. The trial began in March in Borås district court. In May, the district court announced its verdict; the bus driver was acquitted. The judgment was appealed by the Prosecutor to the High Court.

On November 11 and 14, the case will be raised in the High Court of Western Sweden in Gothenburg.
