All those affected must have been women in the age range 80 to 100 years.

Twice in Mjölby and once in Motala, elderly people were visited by a person who wanted to access their bank card. In all three cases, the elderly had received a phone call just minutes before knocking on the door.

The person on the phone must have claimed to call from the bank and said that the elderly person would soon be visited to help with the bank card. In Mjölby they both refused to leave their bank cards. In Motala, however, the fraudster manages to deceive the bank card.

Exposed to theft in the home

The fourth aging crime also occurred in Mjölby. Two men, aged 30, entered an elderly woman's apartment and took her jewelry, cash and bank cards.

- No one was physically affected, but these are older people living alone at home so it's clear that they are affected by the incident, says police spokesman Monica Bergström.

Already last week, the police began to follow similar crimes in Jönköping. The approach then spread to Tranås and even once in Vadstena.

- We have talked to victims of the past and will also talk to victims of the weekend, says Monica Bergström.

The police now want the elderly to be extra careful.

- You should not let any unknown person into your apartment and never give out your bank details. The banks do not work that way.
