PP and Cs finalize the selection of directors for their two-color Government

The popular Isabel Díaz Ayuso is finishing defining the composition of her loose portion of the Government of the Community of Madrid that she will share with Ciudadanos (Cs) from next week. He does it directly advised by the president of his party, Pablo Casado, and by a small number of collaborators with them he will give the last touches to a structure in which the «experience of great managers» will be combined with new incorporations of «different generations and backgrounds ».

From the orange quarter Ignacio Aguado also does the same in petit committee to complete the selection of the people who will lead his six councils, one less than those of the majority party of the center-right with which the regional Executive has been distributed. In his case, the search for civil society professionals has been prioritized over the political curriculum because they do not want to produce "not a single skid because the profiles are not suitable".

Candidates in the PP

Although the internal conversations in both parties are taking place with the utmost discretion to avoid leaks, in the PP it is assumed as a certainty that David Pérez will hold one of the 13 portfolios in which the autonomous powers will be distributed during the next term, four more that nowadays. The question is whether the former mayor of Alcorcón and number two of Ayuso's candidacy will assume the Presidency, an essential plumbing position always at the Puerta del Sol but that it will be even more so now that the gear is going to be bicolor if it keeps its weight, or other minor, such as education.

For the Presidency, the name of Javier Fernández-Lasquetty , the former counselor who promoted health privatization in Madrid under the mandate of Esperanza Aguirre and who was forced to resign in 2014 when the courts knocked down a plan that also came across a strong resistance of the professionals of the sector. Disconnected since then from the public administration, he has in favor of his appointment his proximity to Casado, who signed him as his chief of staff after taking over the leadership of the party and placed him in tenth position of the PP list in the last elections to the Congress, although it failed to seat.

At the head of the Treasury, another of the strategic areas that the PP managed to retain after agreeing to cut it off from Economy -which Cs will assume-, Enrique Ossorio has options to place himself, who already held this position with Ignacio González, as Miguel Ángel García , the number two of said department in the last four years. Both have earned Ayuso's trust since their election as a candidate and it is assumed that they will in one way or another have relevant roles in their Government.

Also of the maximum confidence of the future regional president is Alfonso Serrano , his election campaign director, who in some pools appears as minister in regional version. The majority opinion in the party, however, is that it will be the spokesperson of the Popular Group in the Madrid Assembly, a position also of relevance in a legislature that will have a strong ideological content.

Ayuso will also sign for his team women, in the plural, although in their environment they point out that parity will not be a requirement that is applied millimetrically. There is a possibility that Yolanda Ibarrola will repeat as head of Justice, although for that position the deputy María Eugenia Carballedo , another of the people who form the hard core of the future head of the Madrid Executive, is also running.

Against her, Carballedo has the fact that she is currently the first secretary of the Bureau of the Assembly, a responsibility that in principle could not be compatible with that of high government office. This would force a new vote in Parliament to appoint his replacement and a new pact between the PP, Cs and Vox, which already had their first discrepancies on account of the composition of that body.

Among the unknowns that remain to be cleared is that of who will be in charge of an essential portfolio such as Health , at the head of which is expected to be a doctor by profession, as well as the future of the current acting president, Pedro Rollán . In the absence of the last touches of the structure, the former mayor of Torrejón would not be among those chosen to be part of it. One possibility that has been considered is that it could remain in charge of the group in the Chamber of Vallecas if Serrano makes the jump to Sol.

Cs candidates

In Cs the only thing they confirm so far is that Aguado, in addition to being vice president of Ayuso, will remain with the Executive Spokesman , which has added the Transparency and Sports competitions. These are two key issues for the orange leader, as he will try to make the fight against corruption one of his signs of differentiation from the PP, to which his past joins as a former water polo player.

For Transport and Infrastructure, the area with the highest budget of the six that will control oranges, it is not ruled out that Ángel Garrido can be in command . If this appointment occurs, it would mean the return to the Governing Council of a former popular president as advisor of another party.

In Social and Family Affairs, it is practically taken for granted that it will be the deputy Alberto Reyero , spokesman for the branch of Cs during the last legislature, who holds this portfolio. What has not been specified is whether the department in question will also carry the birth certificate, as Vox has demanded among other issues in exchange for its support for Ayuso's appointment.

For the Ministry of Economy, Universities and Culture the orange training would be looking for professional profiles. And who in principle self-discards to enter the Government is the number two of the party in Madrid, César Zafra, who would prefer to remain as a spokesman in the Assembly.
