Earlier, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that the United States will not be able to stop the planned Turkish operation against militants on the eastern bank of the Euphrates in Syria.

On August 7, Ankara stated that Turkey and the United States agreed to establish a focal point for joint operations and a planned security zone in northern Syria.
